I'm so happy to have contributed this cake and cookie favors to the Bridal Shower of my dear friend,Teresa! Following the art deco B&W theme, I made alternating vanilla and chocolate cake layers filled with white chocolate Oreo ganache. I created her monogram using a custom rubber stamp and food color, both on the cake topper and cookies. I used gold leaf for the first time (and it was as temperamental as I expected but oh what a shine!). The pattern on the bottom tier was created using a custom sized stencil to match the pattern on her invitations. It was such a lovely day and I'm so glad it was all enjoyed.

Current Work....
I've had quite a busy few months and have not been updating this site as often as I'd like. I'm in the process of searching for different website options and will keep you updated if any changes are in the near future! In the meantime, here are some of the various Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary and bridal shower projects I've been working on lately....

Ava's Little Mermaid 4th Birthday Party
My niece, Ava, LOVES Disney Princesses! For her 4th Birthday, she got to spend the day at Princesses on Ice and come home to her Little Mermaid themed party. My sister definitely wanted the clamshell cookies she had seen on Pinterest so I whipped up a batch of those with lemony royal icing and iridescent modeling chocolate pearls. Ava requested vanilla cake and I had so much fun creating all the details out of gum paste (Flounder is my favorite!). This is my second mermaid cake in 6 months - must be a popular theme right now! We did additional cupcakes as well topped with some gum paste sea friends!
The best part was Ava's outfit - a mermaid top and "tail" handmade by my mom and that lil tiara she wore all day was my High School Homecoming Queen crown!
